Exterior Stone By Venture Stone and Tile

As we all know, natural stone is not just used for interiors, but has also been used as a building material adorning the exterior of structures of thousands of years. While we may not have done anything as extensive or large as the pyramids in Egypt, Venture Stone has been involved in quite a few exterior stone projects.

Here are some projects we have supplied in the past featuring exterior stone cladding

88 Morgan Street / 65 Bay Street Towers in Jersey City

Two of the tallest residential towers in New Jersey, this complex was first developed as Harbor Spire and the two towers completed construction in 2008 and 2016 respectively. The exterior featured Giallo Antico Granite on the base course and the grand entryway of both buildings was constructed of Mankato Kasota limestone, quarried and fabricated in the USA in Mankato, Minnesota, south of Minneapolis.

Here you can see additional detail work of the stepped back stone façade.  Dozens of unique pieces were produced and installed to complete this stunning entryway. 

For this job we assisted in the design and installation by creating a series of 3D and 2D drawings to help the architects envision the final product and help the installers achieve the design. This kind of care and attention helps to ensure a good selection and color consistency on different areas of the project.

For this project we produced 3D drawings to serve as an installation guide for the contractors.

Xavier University of Louisiana – St. Katharine Drexel Chapel Fountain

On the campus of Xavier University sits a uniquely modern chapel and church sanctuary. We supplied this project as part of the renovation from the clean up after Hurricane Katrina damaged the campus. Featuring bushhammered Golden Oak granite. Over 250 different size pieces were shipped, with the largest being 4” thick. Venture Stone worked hand in hand with the installing contractor to develop the design and supply the project.

Curbs, Steps, Columns and more. Black Absolute in 2” thick allow this four season installation to weather the harshest winters and warmest summers.

From sampling to shop drawings to the final delivery, Venture Stone coordinated with the installers and contractors to ensure a timely delivery, the right details, and the right material.
